Anything for Pets Takes a Whole Team

From helping a pet parent with a question to getting the right products where they need to go, the work behind a happy pet happens across many teams.

What does it look like to do Anything for Pets at work? It depends on where you work.

In a PetSmart store, it might mean helping a pet parent figure out what their new bearded dragon needs—or knowing how to tell one from a leopard gecko. Those conversations draw on curiosity, care and the knowledge associates build every day. Associates also help pet parents navigate choices for pets with different needs, routines and personalities. It’s a chance to turn a quick question into a more confident next step for someone caring for a pet.

In our Grooming Salons and PetsHotels, associates help pets feel their best through skilled grooming and compassionate care during their stay. Each role brings its own skills and routines, with pets’ needs at the center of the work. A grooming appointment calls for patience and attention to each pet, while PetsHotel associates help care for pets when their families are away. In both settings, the little details can help pets feel more comfortable and cared for.

Across Canada, more than 4,300 passionate pet associates bring Anything for Pets to life in over 160 PetSmart stores, alongside nearly 60 team members at our Canadian home office. Together, they help pets and the people who love them feel at home across the country.

At PetSmart's seven distribution centers, the impact looks different. More than 2,400 associates help move nearly one billion units each year, keeping products on their way to the pets and people who need them. It’s work that may happen out of sight for a customer, but it helps make the store experience possible.

And at the Phoenix Home Office, a love of pets can show up in unexpected ways—including colleagues with scales as well as tails. Across the company, people bring different skills to the same shared purpose: helping pets and the people who love them.

A sense of connection matters, too. PetSmart’s Associate Resource Groups bring associates together around shared interests, backgrounds and experiences, helping build community and support belonging.

There isn’t one way to work at PetSmart. There are stores, distribution centers, salons, PetsHotels and home offices, with different work and different ways to contribute.
