Celebrating Juneteenth With MOSAIC - A PetSmart ARG

This month we acknowledge Juneteenth, the oldest celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.


On June 19, 1865, 250,000 remaining men, women, and children were freed from slavery in Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued by President Abraham Lincoln. While Juneteenth has garnered more attention in the past year due to the increased exposure of injustices toward Black Americans, Juneteenth has always been a celebration of freedom within Black communities for the past 150 years.
