Explaining AWEsome—the Associate Work Experience—at PetSmart

We love our #LifeatPetSmart, and if you were to ask us to describe the Associate Work Experience, we would say it’s pretty AWEsome!

What is an Associate Work Experience? It’s the unique set of experiences, benefits, perks, and development opportunities that we offer our associates. Think of it as the ecosystem of support, recognition, and values that PetSmart provides to our associates to help them achieve their highest potential. In short, it’s all the things that our associates get to enjoy as members of our pack – pretty, AWEsome, right?

Our AWEsome Associate Work Experience is comprised of many components – from competitive pay and benefits, comprehensive learning and development programs to grow your career, dynamic recognition, and an authentic culture where everyone feels like they Belong.

Our team is always creating new components to enhance our AWEsome Associate Work Experience. We use our Associate Engagement Surveys and other associate feedback to shape our new offerings.

Here are just a few things we are excited about:

• For four years in a row, we have maintained our low benefits premium costs for associates. And, we’ve introduced new medical plan options to allow associates additional flexibility to take care of their families.

• We launched a virtual platform called PerkSpot (and Perkopolis in Canada) that provides thousands of deals for local restaurants, entertainment, and services for associates and their families to enjoy.

• We refreshed our virtual development portal, Skillport, with thousands of new trainings and learning courses that associates can access online to take the next step in their professional growth – all totally free!

• Speaking of development, we are proud of our Tuition Assistance Program, which encourages the professional development and continued learning of associates. Associates can be reimbursed for eligible expenses toward their undergraduate or graduate degrees.

• And, because our associates are the heart of what we do, the PetSmart Associate Assistance Foundation (PAAF) provides financial assistance and emergency resources to associates in need. The PAAF is funded by donations from PetSmart, and our associates, to help one another in their time of need.

These are just a few highlights of what makes #LifeAtPetSmart great, and we are thrilled to continue to create one-of-a-kind experiences for associates.
