Audrey is part of PetSmart's IT Digital team! She works hard every day on the technical side of things for the love of pets, pet parents and all of us within #LifeAtPetSmart and started her journey with us as an intern. Read on below to check out how Audrey's grown her career over the last several years and learn a bit more about her!
Tell us a bit about your PetSmart journey – where did you start, where are you now, and how did you get there?
Audrey: My PetSmart journey started back in 2018 where I participated in the PetSmart Summer Internship Program. There I spent the summer working on IT Delivery to Supply Chain team where I got to grow not only professionally but personally as well. After my internship, I got the opportunity to return full-time after graduation. In July 2019, I joined the PetSmart community full-time on the IT Digital Team as an Analyst. Over the past two years, I have worked on PetSmart’s website where I continue to learn something new every day, am constantly challenged and surrounded by like-minded individuals to help better serve our pet parents. I am forever grateful for the opportunities and relationships I have built since joining PetSmart and am very thankful for my PetSmart community.
Tell us about your pets!
Audrey: In March 2020 just one week before the pandemic started, I brought home my golden retriever puppy, Levi. (Amazing timing right?) She is the sweetest and sassiest little thing and has been the best coworker. I couldn’t imagine life without her. In the future, I hope to add more fur babies to our family but right now we have our hands perfectly full. 😊
Why do you enjoy your life at PetSmart or what are some of your favorite parts?
Audrey: Animals have always been a huge passion of mine. Being able to work with those who have the same mindset along with connecting it with my love for technology has been incredibly rewarding. Every single person I have interacted with at PetSmart is incredibly friendly, genuine, and supportive. Another thing that makes PetSmart stand out is no matter your title, everyone cares and wants your voice to be heard. I remember executives taking the time to talk with the interns and invest in them, and their development meant everything to me.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
Audrey: My brother and I share the same birthday just 9 years apart.
Any favorite stories or moments from over the years at PetSmart that you’d like to share?
Audrey: I remember a couple of days after starting at PetSmart I was walking down the hallway in the corporate office and a coworker was walking their guinea pig on a leash. I knew at that moment PetSmart was the perfect fit for me.
