Hear why Kartik, Human Capital Solutions Analyst, has enjoyed #LifeAtPetSmart for 3 years

Who's served multiple roles at PetSmart, is an ASU grad, and an all-around awesome guy? Our Human Capital Solutions Analyst, Kartik! We asked Kartik why he's been loving his #LifeAtPetSmart for the past few years, and he had some really great things to say! Check out his story below.

Tell us a bit about your PetSmart journey—where did you start, where are you now, and how did you get there?

Kartik: I graduated from ASU in 2018 with a B.S. in Supply Chain Management. I was hired on as a Supply Chain Rotational Analyst(SCRA). I worked on the inbound and outbound teams as a transportation planner, while rotating through the supply chain department learning about various roles within the teams.

After 6 months, I became a Supplier Direct Fulfillment Analyst (dropship) under the Vendor Management team. I handled the operations side of PetSmart’s online dropship business (shipping directly to the customer from the vendor facility). It was my job to onboard new vendors, make sure orders ship on time, and inventory is updated regularly. Additionally, I was the liaison between our 3rdparty order broker, vendors, and the OMS team. As well as troubleshooting any vendor/system issues. I have been an SDF analyst for two years and recently accepted a new position in Human Resources as the Human Capital Solutions Analyst!

What do you enjoy about your #LifeAtPetSmart?

Kartik: One thing I appreciate about PetSmart is the leadership, they are always encouraging associates to be creative and find new ways to tackle problems. New ideas are encouraged. My background is in Supply Chain, but I was interested in the Human Capital Solutions Analyst role under the Human Resources Department. Leadership always encourages us to put ourselves out there and seek growth and I felt very supported applying for a new role.

Some of my favorite memories at PetSmart are the petting zoo (in the photo above), team outings, team building events, 2018 Supply Chain Christmas Cube decorating competition, and just working with a great group of people.

Any favorite stories or moments from over the years at PetSmart that you’d like to share?

Kartik: Seeing the variety of animals associates bring into the office (pre March 2020). I’ve seen lizards, cats, snakes, fish, and lots of dogs. I never get tired of telling people there are dogs in our office . Also the Christmas Cube Decorating competition of 2018! Each team designed their row in a different theme. Inbounds theme was Christmas movies, we got Fat Heads of different popular Christmas movie characters and decorated our row with a bunch of poster.
