Marketing Manager, Sam, has been part of #LifeAtPetSmart for over 4 years now. She's helped to make a positive impact for pets and pet parents across our marketing department in the Phoenix Home Office. Tell us a bit about your PetSmart journey – where did you start, where are you now, and how did you get there?
Sam: I began my amazing journey at PetSmart in 2017 on the National Promotions Team, Marketing. I started off as a contractor in the first few months and then joined the team to manage the Digital Circular and the Promotional Sign Kit. In 2020, I joined the Integrated Dog Marketing Team. I currently work on campaigns that support the Dog category, our proprietary brands, and our vendor partners.
Tell us about your pets!
Sam: I’m a proud pet parent to 2 dogs, Harley (5 yrs old) & Bruce (2 yrs old). I adopted Harley in 2016 and Bruce in Feb’ 2020. They are BFFs and love to play together! If I’m in a Teams meeting with you, there’s a 99% chance you’ll witness their wrestling match in the background.
Why do you enjoy your life at PetSmart or what are some of your favorite parts?
Sam: I love my life at PetSmart because of the people and the pets! As a dog mom, I love that I can connect my personal passion to my work.
Any favorite stories or moments from over the years at PetSmart that you’d like to share?
Sam: One of my favorite moments was the 2019 Halloween pet parade on campus. It was so fun to see everyone and their pets dressed up in such great costumes. The creativity was incredible! I’ll never forget the guinea pig dressed up as Darth Vader… Only at PetSmart!
