The Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) is an international leader in educating and certifying retail loss prevention and asset protection professionals. LPF’s mission is to advance the retail loss prevention and asset protection profession by providing relevant, convenient, and challenging educational resources.
The organization recently hosted Women in Leadership, a learning event designed to connect women from across the Loss Prevention (LP) industry and inspire them to pursue leadership opportunities. The event featured a panel of female leaders from across the LP industry, including The TJX Companies, FleetPride and PetSmart’s own Meredith Plaxco, Vice President, Loss Prevention & Safety.
“As someone who’s been part of the journey toward belonging, inclusion and gender equity on my own team here at PetSmart, I was grateful for the opportunity to share my experiences, how we’ve grown, and what I’ve learned along the way to help other women navigate their careers. Even though we know belonging work is never finished, I’m so proud to be part of one of the most diverse LP & Safety teams in retail,” said Plaxco.
To celebrate the event, LPF provided five scholarships to attendees. Winners will use scholarship funds to obtain LPCertified (LPC), an advanced certification for experienced LP professionals. PetSmart was proud to serve as a sponsor for the scholarship giveaway.
LP industry professional, Trish Chan won the PetSmart LPC sponsorship from PetSmart. In response to winning the scholarship Chan said, “thank you very much for this scholarship! I’m very excited to take the LPC course. Thanks again for your generosity. Much appreciated.”
