Susan’s journey began as a Store Leader in 2002–2003, where she loved the energy of weekends filled with new pet parents and adoption groups bringing kittens and puppies to happy homes. Her dedication to helping others started on the sales floor and grew as she supported a team of project managers during the opening of 500 stores as Manager of New Store Openings and Training. She recalls, “The best part was developing my team to be the BEST at having high standards and driving efficiencies!”

For Susan, #LifeAtPetSmart has always been about people—mentors, teammates, and the associates she supports today. “The Leaders and teams I have worked with have always supported me in my development as a leader and now as an individual contributor. I feel my contributions are valued. I always strive to put our store teams first, and by doing so, you’re sure to make the right decisions. Working with teams that have the same values allows you to make a positive impact on our store teams!”
