Building Your Personal Brand

If someone introduced you with one sentence, what would they say? That’s your Personal Brand!

Your personal brand is what you are known for—the reputation you build and the story people tell about working with you. Think of it as your career currency — the small deposits you make every day that add up to big opportunities down the road.

At PetSmart, your personal brand shows up in how leaders, peers, and partners experience you. It can open doors to new projects, stretch assignments, and even promotions. Your personal brand can even help recruiters and hiring managers see beyond a resume into your leadership style, your communication strengths, and the consistency you bring.

So, how can you build your personal brand?

Start with clarity. Ask yourself: What do I want to be known for? What am I known for today? You can even ask teammates for feedback—their answers may reveal strengths you hadn't noticed or help you understand where you might want to adjust.

Keep things fresh!

Do a quick "digital refresh." Check your online presence—photos, profiles, skills, endorsements. Keep it professional and aligned with the personal brand you're building. (Yes, even that profile picture counts!)

Align your communication and values. Speak up in meetings, share ideas, ask thoughtful questions. Small actions add up and reinforce your personal brand.

Build your brand statement. We've all heard of an elevator pitch, but what about a brand statement? Reconsider shaping your elevator pitch around what you're known for, what motivates you, and the value you bring to your team.

And finally, make connections! Networking isn't just for big events — it's about being intentional with relationships inside and outside your team. Over time, those connections become the people who may think of you for the next big opportunity because of the personal brand you've created for yourself.

Love the "career currency" metaphor — I've been thinking about how those small daily deposits compound, and I'm ready to start tracking mine. I've been using https://banana-nano.co

The "career currency" metaphor really stuck with me — I've been making those small daily deposits by sharing what I learn with teammates. I've been using https://image-gpt.net

The "career currency" analogy really clicked—small daily deposits do compound. I'd love to try the "one-sentence introduction" exercise to sharpen how I show up for leaders and peers. https://aiphoto-editor.com
